The Temple de l’Oratoire

 

Adolphe Monod came to Paris because he had received a call to be one of the pastors of the Temple de l’Oratoire. The following engraving by Ransonnette – probably Charles Ransonnette (1793-1877) – shows the portal of this Temple.

Those who are interested in this Temple – a masterpiece of Pierre Caqué († 1767) finished in 1745 – and its place in French protestantism should definitely have a look at the book “L’Oratoire du Louvre et les protestants parisiens” by Philippe Braunstein (editor).
